It was radio interview day for Taylor Swift, who was making rounds promoting her single “You Belong With Me” reaching No. 1, being on People‘s list of Best Dressed Celebrities or her album going platinum.
The happy-times list goes on like so. In fact, the only thing she wasn’t promoting was the Interrupting Kanye Incident.
During her interview with the MJ Morning Show on Tampa Bay’s 93.3 (audio is here), T.Swift made her desire not to talk about Kanye very clear. The first time MJ asked her to describe what happened that fateful VMA night, Taylor explained:
“I’m just honestly trying not to make it into a bigger deal than it already is. It’s kind of become more of a big deal than I ever thought it would be. I just, you know, it happened on TV, so everybody saw what happened. I just would like to move on maybe a little bit.”
There must have been too many “maybe”s in that wish, because MJ pressed on. “Do you think it was a scripted thing?” he asked.
“Well…you know, I um…I didn’t know what to think, but I think that we should maybe talk about something else, because, um, I’ve talked about this in one interview, and that was going to be it. It’s not something I feel like we need to keep talking about.”
Still not quite getting it, MJ lectured her about how this is good for her career and then asked is she felt Kanye’s apology was sincere.
“[Long awkward silence]…I really would appreciate it if we could talk about something else, because I’ve asked you three times now, and I’m trying to be nice about it. It just isn’t something we need to spend this whole interview talking about.”
More bullying ensued as MJ said things like, “Taylor, let me give you a couple of tips.” As he launched into his final VMA question, the country superstar swiftly walked away from the phone and allowed her publicist to interrupt.
A little fight ensued, and MJ revealed his last question: “Do you think Kanye West has a mental problem?” As if that’s a legitimate question that Taylor is actually going to answer.
Moral of the story: No one messes with T.Swift. Not Kanye West and not some rude morning-show host. We have a feeling her next album is going to be less about cheesy high school fairy tale love stories and more about empowerment.
Back in April, the 28-year-old reality TV star tricked us with a blonde wig but Kim claims, “This time it’s for real, guys! I went blonde!!! My hairstylist Clyde Haygood orchestrated the whole thing and Rebecca from Goodform salon dyed it! I am really loving it!”
Last night, Miley Cyrus may have taken home six Teen Choice Awards (see all the stylish stars at the awards here), but today she is the proud owner of a new pair of glasses! The starlet took to her Twitter to show off her red Loree Rodkin by Sama glasses. “My new glasses yayy! Makes me look smart and stylish!” she tweeted. We love Miley’s studious new accessory — perfect for back-to-school!
Twilight was the big winner at yesterday’s Teen Choice Awards, but let’s face it, the whole day was all about Robsten.
Inside the show, K and R were separated by Taylor Lautner (so friggin’ typical), but during commercial breaks they managed to squeeze in plenty of time to share a few laughs.
“Girls kept running up to [Rob] asking to get pictures with him, and he was so nice about it,” said a source sitting near the couple inside. “Rob would smile and meet all of the giggling girls while Kristen would look on and just laugh about all the attention he got. Some even asked if the two were an actual couple, and they would just shoot each other a look, blush and start giggling.”
While we’re not positive if the two arrived together, like we Twittered last night, we’re damn sure the two love-biters left together.
We saw Rob and Kristen dart out the back and get whisked off together in a black Navigator as most of the Twi cast did an interview with Entertainment Tonight. If you’re skeptical, then peep the video for yourselves.
So did Robsten celebrate all their awards privately last night?
Of course. We heard from solid sources that Rob was back at the Chateau Marmont last night, and he most definitely wasn’t hanging around any of the bars or main areas (standard Pattinson locales when he’s there, btw). So he must have preferred to hang in his room instead. Is that what you call Stewart service? Just not sure if he was also somewhat resting up for his travels to Vancouver this morning.
Paps seem to believe Kristen was at the hotel, but insiders tell us there were no documented Robsten sightings inside the über-exclusive hangout after the awards. Did they stealth suck face once again? Seems so.
However, that was so not the sneaky case for most of Rob’s stay in L.A. this weekend.
“Kristen was in and out all weekend,” pipes our first-hand Chateau source.
Love it! You, too? What a stupid question.
Oh, 16-year-old Miley Cyrus. Why do you continue to do this to us all? Acting what is deemed to be too provocative and sexual for your young age, which never fails to shock everyone. “Oh my word, that Miley Cyrus. So inappropriate!”
Except the comments are never that civilized; they tend to go more the slut route. It’s not nice or fair, that’s just kind of how it goes if you’re an underage starlet trying to get some attention.
It would be nice if Miley could help us all out and avoid this age-old debate by choosing not to pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards or wear a supershort miniskirt and then change into a dress with a serious plunging neckline. But she’s not going to do that, and the cycle is just about to begin again with her little sister…
Noah Cyrus finally gives us an answer to the world’s question: What’s worse than a 16-year-old pole dancing on national television? A 9-year-old pole dancing at a Hollywood club. Someone alert their parents via Twitter!
Mommy-to-be Kendra Wilkinson doesn’t care how many pounds she puts on during her pregnancy.
“I’m concentrating more on what’s healthy for the baby more than my weight gain,” says Kendra, whose E! reality show was just renewed for a second season. “I know my weight gain will go away very fast, so if I gain weight and that’s what it takes to make my baby healthy, that’s what has to happen.”
Kendra, who is expecting her and football hubby Hank Baskett‘s first baby on Christmas Day, recently began craving Japanese food…
“Not fish or any of that stuff, but teriyaki chicken and rice and soy sauce and ginger salad,” she said.
Back when she was just 12 weeks along in June, Kendra admitted she was terrified of giving birth. “I’m getting an epidural, everything they can give me,” she said at the time. “That’s the one thing I’m nervous about the most. Everything else is so fun, but I have visions of my vagina tearing, and that sucks.”
Fast forward to yesterday. “I thought I was scared,” she said. “But I know the moment’s going to come where I’m like, ‘Oh my god. It was so worth it.’ It’s only a little bit of pain for a lifetime of happiness.”
Even her fondness for stripper poles has taken a slight dip. “The stripper pole’s coming down now because of the baby,” she said with a laugh. “Not forever, but for a while. It will be hung up in the closet.”
Lady Gaga channels her inner Kermit the Frog as she puts on a green jacket while interviewing for a Germany television show on Monday (July 20).
The 23-year-old Yonkers-born singer’s song, “Just Dance”, was recently parodied at the weekly Republican conference meeting on Tuesday. The parody was entitled, “Just Tax”! CNN reported that Peter Cowman, a 23-year-old from Seattle created the tape and Rep Dave Reichert showed the tape to his colleagues to demonstrate new media and encourage the youth.
House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence did say however, that few members knew the original Gaga song.
